Coolirpa demonstrates a DIY Pouch made from an old crisp packet / chip bag. It’s a great upcycling idea that requires basic sewing skill and these would be prefect as hand-made gifts.
Remember to trim the crisp packet and lining before turning it all right side out!
The materials and equipment that you’ll need to make your DIY pouch are shown below.
- Clean crisp packet / chip bag
- 2 pieces of lining fabric
- 2 pieces of clear vinyl
- Zip / zipper
- Ruler, rotary cutter and cutting mat (optional)
- Sewing machine with a regular foot and a zipper foot
Did You Know?
Crisp packets, chocolate wrappers and cigarette wrappers are not aluminium foil. Although the inside of the packet is shiny and looks like foil, it is in fact a metallised plastic film. In the UK these are sent to landfill.
