DIY Reusable Makeup Removal Pads & Cleansing Balm
June 24 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm£15
What are Reusable Makeup Removal Pads & Cleansing Balm?
They’re an eco-conscious fabric alternative to single-use cotton pads and balls. Perfect for removing makeup, facial cleansing and applying foundation. They are wonderfully soft, gently exfoliating and best of all, washable. They dry overnight ready for using again and again.
The cleansing balm is made from natural oils in a specific combination to cleanse the skin and naturally balance the skin’s natural oils. This results in a much more nourished and moisturized skin that traditional soap and detergent based facial cleaners. Best of all it’s simple, inexpensive, and easy to make.
What will I do in this class?
You will be upcycling textiles into facial cleansing pads. Our tutor will gently guide you through choosing fabrics, cutting, layering and hand sewing using a blanket stitch.
We’ve done all the hard work so you don’t have to. Which fabrics are best? What size? How many layers? Which stitch? Soak up the knowledge and have fun making our fabulous tried and tested cleansing pad design.
We’ll share how to make a natural nourishing cleansing balm with 2 recipes to try at home. By the end of the class you’ll be making pads like a pro and have a mini cleansing bar to take home.
Why take this class?
It’s learning in a social, fun and relaxing way with like-minded people.
This class is perfect if you want to learn upcycling skills and are looking to reduce your use of single-use products and lead a zero waste lifestyle. Cotton is considered the worlds dirtiest crop using 25% of the world’s pesticides and is over 90% GMO – it’s time to ditch the cotton pads.
Learning about natural DIY cleansing bars are a great place to start making your own chemical free beauty products. We hope that once you’ve made your 3 pads here and tried your balm, you’ll go on to make many more.
They make great eco gifts!
