Andrea from AndreasChoice shows us how to make a beanie hat from a sweater. This is a very simple upcycling project that takes just 15 – 30 mins to make!
It’s a great reuse for an old sweater that’s perhaps has a hole or stain or no longer fits. Andrea also has a reuse for the arms, turning them into leg warmers. You could also use them to make gloves or arm warmers!
Whatever is left could be cut up into sections and sewn together, with other woollen scraps, to make a scarf. I love this project, it’s so easy to do. I’m sure once I’ve made my own one I’ll be teaching many people how to make a beanie from their sweaters!
The materials and equipment that you’ll need to make your upcycled beanie hat are shown below.
- Old sweater / jumper / pullover or a skirt
- Fabric glue or needle and thread
