John Murphy from Stupid Creatures shows us how to make a monster (a stupid creature) from old jeans.
This video was published by Threadbanger… in July as a Christmas gift idea! The timing is rather whacky 🙂 but I agree that this would make a lovely Christmas gift. This stupid creature is very cute.
John whizzes through this at quite a fast pace so I’d say it’s probably a project for the more experienced sewer.
The materials and equipment that you’ll need to make your upcycled strange creature are shown below.
- Old pair of jeans
- Accent fabric
- Polyester fibre fill
- Buckwheat grains
- Child safe doll eyes
- Fabric scissors
- Sewing machine
- Knitting needle
Did You Know?
Biodegradable materials decompose and release the greenhouse gases methane and carbon dioxide.
In 2001 there were over 1,500 landfill sites in the UK producing around 27% of the UK’s emission of methane, a potent green house gas 21 times more potent than co2.
Diverting household textiles from landfills by recycling or re-use reduces the use of landfill allowances.
