Alex from DIY Ready shows us how to make an upcycled pallet table in this video. I really like the rustic style of this table, it does look like it requires a lot of sawing though.
I’m not entirely convinced that all the boards used were from a pallet as there was a sticker with a bar code on one at the beginning!
Please ensure that you wear protective eye-wear when sawing, especially when using electrical sawing equipment. You don’t want to end up with a splinter in your eye…
Also, do check that the pallets you want to use are safe to reuse and that they are not from a rental company (rental pallets are usually coloured). Read the following article for more guidance on this – Are Wood Pallets Safe For Reuse? by Earth991.com.
The materials and equipment that you’ll need to make your upcycled table are shown below.
- 3 Wood pallets
- 4 18″ legs
- 12 screws 2.5″
- Wood Glue
- Wood Stain
- Nail remover
- Circular saw / jig saw / hand saw
- 5/32 inch drill bit
- 4 clamps or 48″ clamp
- Paint brush
Did you know?
Nearly 2 billion wooden pallets are currently in circulation in the US alone, with the majority of them being replaced each year. This consumes an estimated 50 percent of the country’s annual hardwood harvest.
