Laura from Garden Answer demonstrates how to make a book planter in this upcycling project. This is a cute upcycle for an old book that is no longer wanted and would make a lovely gift!
You might want to glue the pages of the book together, with a PVA/ white craft glue, to make this into a slightly more solid container for the plants.
The materials and equipment that you’ll need to upcycle your old book into a planter are shown below.
- A thick hardback book
- Potting soil
- Plastic /plastic bag
- Decorative items e.g. fairies, gnomes, seashells (optional)
- Stanley knife / craft knife / exacto knife
