April 16, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Edinburgh Mini Maker Faire – A celebration of creativity in all its forms!
The Edinburgh Mini Maker Faire is back for it’s fifth year, highlighting the diversity of human creativity by bringing together makers from all sorts of unexpected areas under one big roof.
This year the faire will be better than ever before and you’ll be treated to gadgets, hardware, software, knitwear and food. This is a chance for the whole family to come out and interact with unbelievable technology and discover the hidden gems that are worked away at by creative makers across the country.
Edinburgh Mini Maker Faire is a day-long celebration of creativity in all its forms for both children and adults.
For the fifth consecutive year it gathers fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists, scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a chance for these makers to show off their hobbies, experiments and projects, and for visitors to discover new ways to make their own ideas a reality.
This is our third year at the mini maker faire and we’re excited to be back, we’ll be showing people how to upcycle used bicycle inner tubes into personalised wrist cuffs – suitable for kids and adults!
This year will an even more interactive Faire, with soapbox talks from local makers such as MAKLab and Edinburgh Hack Lab, installations around the venue, demonstrations of making techniques from electronics to carpentry and a whole host of projects from local makers to inspire your own creations. Glimpse the future and get inspired!
Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased from the Edinburgh International Science Festival website.
