Pennywise753 demonstrates how to make a skull from a milk carton. You will however need a plaster (or bucky) skull to use as the mould for this project and a heat gun.
I think I would be tempted to put this in the oven and see if it could be done quicker that way…. I’m also wondering what other moulds could be used to make different items out of the milk cartons.
Wood stain apparently works well for colouring the carton, you could also paint on layers of latex and cotton or tissue paper, then paint it.
The materials and equipment that you’ll need to make your plastic milk carton skull are shown below.
If you don’t have a plaster skull or heat gun, don’t worry. I’ve also included another video below showing how to make a skull from a milk carton using a pen, scissors and hot glue!
- Milk carton
- Plaster or bucky skull
- Platform to rest the skull on
- Stanley knife / box cutter
- Blow torch
- Basin of cold water and a sponge
Did You Know?
275,000 tonnes of plastic are used each year in the UK, that’s about 15 million bottles per day. The use of plastic in Western Europe is growing about 4% each year.
