In this video I show you how to reuse old spotlight bulbs and turn them into photo / card holders or table place holders. It’s a simple and effective reuse for something that would otherwise end up in landfill.
I came up with this idea when a local bar owner asked me what she could do with 70 spotlight bulbs that had been replaced in her bars. She loved the idea and made lots of card holders for the tables in the bar!
The materials and equipment that you’ll need to upcycle your spotlight bulbs are shown below.
- Old spotlight bulbs
- Garden wire
- Paint (chalk, wood or metal)
- Paint brush
- Skewer (optional)
Did You Know?
Energy saving bulbs don’t belong in the rubbish bin. They contain small amounts of mercury. Although this is completely safe for users of the lamps, they must be collected separately for disposal.
This ensures that valuable parts of the lamps, such as glass and metal, are not lost. The energy saving lamps can be disposed of for free at your local voluntary or other collection points.
LEDs don’t contain harmful substances and they have an extremely long service life.
