How To Upcycle A Ceramic Vase With Rice Paper

Sarah Bush demonstrates how to upcycle a ceramic vase with rice paper in this video tutorial.  This is a great way to give a new lease of life to a plain or unattractive vase.

It’s especially handy if you want to change your colour scheme and don’t want to spend a fortune on new accessories!  The materials and equipment that you will need to revamp your vase are shown below.

Materials
  • Ceramic vase
  • Thin decorative rice or handmade paper
  • White PVA craft glue / mod podge
  • Water
  • Water based polyurethane (for the final coat)
Equipment
  • Small brush / foam brush
  • Razor blade / craft knife (to trim the paper from the top of the vase)
